I admit I was daydreaming during a recent stint as dummy at Ione Marsden’s Saturday bridge lunch. As I gazed out over the Intracoastal Waterway, I realized that her fourth-floor apartment’s view looked into the sliding glass doors of all the units facing hers from the building’s adjacent wing.
“I never go out there at all,” she said.
I suggested that we could provide some privacy on her balcony with a few strategically placed palms along with smaller planters. She perked up at the idea of her own garden, so I sketched a plan for the space.
